Job Summary  The Monitoring and Evaluation Manager has the overall responsibility for coordination of all planning, monitoring and evaluation activities at Nurture Africa. The M&E Manager ensures that the organization has a sound M&E system that is in synchronicity with the Nurture Africa’s M&E systems and organization-wide goals. He or she ensures harmony of fulfilling reporting requirements of donors so that Nurture Africa’s strategic indicators and evaluation principles are incorporated into all project evaluation plans. The M&E Manager ensures that there is a reliable, up-to-date database of information of all program work and is responsible for the timely and accurate production of all project reports.
Key Duties and Responsibilities 
Overseeing the monitoring and evaluation department and staff ensuring compliance according to agreed policies and procedures
Undertaking research on best practices and trends in M&E and making recommendations for their inclusion in current and future programs and policies
Reviewing M&E findings and best practices and disseminating information to stakeholders to facilitate evidence-based planning, learning and informed decision-making
Collecting, compiling, and analysing data from reports submitted by implementing departments and preparing consolidated progress reports.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, with a post graduate qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation. A Master’s degree in any related field is an added advantage.
Five years of experience in the areas of program development and monitoring and evaluation, including relevant experience building and managing an M&E system and team, relevant experience supervising data collection and data validation exercises, and building staff capacity.
Demonstrated experience in the use of statistical packages and/ or data analysis software e.g., SPSS, Excel, Epi Info, SMART, STAT 01
Advanced knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office Suite Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
Sound working knowledge and technical competences in research, monitoring and evaluation, accountability and learning principles, methodologies, and practices.
Ability to manage and meet deadlines and work independently on multiple priorities
Proven leadership, training, and capacity building experience
Extensive experience with mixed-methods data collection, entry, verification, analysis, and reporting.
An exceptional and flexible organizer. Someone who solves problems and thinks of efficiency. Someone who likes to get things done and quickly adapts to new realities.
An inspiring coach to his or her team members. Someone who likes to get the best out of his or her team, by close supervision of their work, providing accurate mentoring, exploring with them new ways in M&E.
Willing to have a 2-3 days’ work week
