The Uganda Registration Services Bureau URSB is established as a Statutory
Body under the Uganda Registration Services Bureau Act Cap. 210. The Bureau is
a key player in Commercial, Civil and Intellectual Property Rights
Registration that facilitate private sector development and vital statistics
for national planning.
Job Summary ⇒ The Senior Legal Officer will provide legal advice and
guidance to Management and ensure sound legal standing URSB operations
including being represented in the Courts of Law
Key Duties and Responsibilities ⇒
⇗ Represent the Bureau in Courts of law and handle any other litigation
related matters Review rules, regulations and procedures applicable to the
Bureau, which may be affected by new legislation, policy changes and
developments in the administration of justice. Ensure registration of legal
documents with the relevant authorities.
⇗ Review and or prepare contractual documents made with third parties and
ensure that URSB's interests are taken care of
⇗ Provide legal advice to URSB and its clients on compliance with all legal
requirements pertaining to the Bureau's operations
⇗ Represent the interests of the URSB in the Courts of Law, in all legal
advice rendered to the Bureau and wherever else as may be necessary.
⇗ Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Head
Legal Advisory Services and management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience ⇒
⇗ The Uganda Registration Services Bureau URSB Senior Legal Officer must
hold an Honors Degree in Law
⇗ Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from a recognized institution
⇗ A valid practicing Certificate
⇗ At least three years of relevant work experience 1 of which must have been
at supervisory level
⇗ in a reputable public or private organization.
⇗ Computer literacy skills.
⇗ Ability to work under minimum supervision
