About US ⇒
The Public Service Commission is established under the provisions of Article
1651 of the 1995 Constitution. In fulfillment of its functions under Article
166, the Commission is required to make a report to Parliament in respect of
each year’s performance of its functions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities ⇒
The incumbent will be responsible to the Principal Legal Officer for
performing the following duties
⇗ Being responsible for one of the Judicial Service Commission Regions;
⇗ Conducting Court Inspections;
⇗ Conducting investigations of complaints against Judicial Officers and other
staff in Judiciary;
⇗ Prosecuting disciplinary cases before the Disciplinary Committee;
⇗ Carrying out research on law and administration of justice;
⇗ Carrying out field survey on law and administration of justice;
⇗ Carrying out research on terms and conditions of service of Judicial
Officers and administration of justice;
⇗ Writing reports and preparing legal opinion and memorandum;
⇗ Supervising Legal Officers;
⇗ Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience ⇒
⇗ Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours Bachelor’s Degree
in Law from a recognized University/Institution plus a Post Graduate Diploma
in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre.
⇗ Applicants should have three 3 years working experience in the field of
Legal Practice and Systems served at Legal Officer Level in Government or from
a reputable organization.
