Pangea Publishing Uganda works to create culturally relevant content and programs that help children learn to read and inspire them to read more often.
 
Job Summary  The Design Associate plays a critical role in the designing of our high-quality learning materials to be both educational and engaging.  The Design Associate works primarily within the Pangea Publishing team, reporting to the Director of Publishing, but also assists with the Communications Department. The position is based in Kampala but may require infrequent travel.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities 
Primary Responsibilities
Design and layout of Pangea Publishing books to be “Print-Ready”
KPI Layout 30 books per quarter.
Design images for print materials and social media to support Pangea Publishing Sales team.
KPI Assist Design Lead with updating catalog monthly
KPI Design social media images upon request in a timely manner
Secondary Responsibilities
Assist with the recruitment and management of contracted illustrators
Assist with the development of brand assets


Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in the following fields Arts, Design or related area. Preferred
Expert command of Adobe Creative Suite. Required
Superior oral and written communication skills in English. Required
Computer fluency and understanding of Google Suite and Canva Pro platform. Preferred
