Job Summary  To manage and oversee Company’s financial procedures, plans, and budgets/investments to ensure an appropriate financial framework is in place for better decision making, growth opportunities, and cost optimization.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities 
Oversee recording of all financial transactions, analyses, and systems
Manage the treasury function
Oversee the overall risk management processes for the company including analyses of their financial impact
Tax Affairs Management by ensuring full compliance with all tax legislation including but not limited to statutory returns VAT, PAYE, WHT, Corporation Tax
Implement controls systems to ensure cost efficiency and management of risks
Support financial planning and analysis to ensure timely and accurate preparation of reports in compliance with IFRS and other stakeholder requirements
Manage statutory and other audits
Implement recommendations by the Board and the Auditors on matters of finance and accounts
Manage the development of the team and support capacity building of the team
Management of Intercompany balances and transactions


Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Registered Accountant with The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda ICPAU
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration Finance, Commerce, Statistics, or any other associated discipline
Over 7 years of progressive experience in an accounting role with at least 3 years at the managerial level
Familiarity with Ugandan tax legislation is an added advantage
Experience in using SAP and Microsoft Excel is required
Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills
Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
High level of integrity and dependability
Strong sense of urgency and results-oriented
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
