Eskom Uganda Ltd EUL is the leading electricity generation company in Uganda. The company was incorporated on 22nd November 2002 and commenced operations on Ist April 2003. Eskom Uganda Limited EUL is a subsidiary company of Eskom Enterprises Proprietary Limited – South Africa, the investment arm of Eskom Holdings Ltd; the leading electricity generation company in Africa. Eskom Uganda Limited Operates and maintains the Nalubaale and Kiira power stations in Jinja under a 20 years concession. The power plants are owned by Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited. We provide reliable and sustainable hydro power for national development.
 
Job Summary  The Plant Operator will be in charge of organizing, coordinating and controlling the operation and dispatch of all production, auxiliary and ancillary plants to meet demand in a safe and cost effective manner.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities 
Monitor and control the power generation equipment.
Monitor Unit status
Operate plant under normal and emergency conditions
Perform administrative activities
Attend to communication equipment
Carryout first line maintenance
Respond to emergencies
Assist with the development of staff


Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate must hold a Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
Two years of experience in power generation
Must be of unquestionable integrity
Honesty
Trustworthiness
professionalism
He should be knowledgeable with occupational safety, health, environmental and quality
requirements in industrial
Incident investigation.
Communication and computer literacy.
Log writing.
Problem solving.
Colour blindness
Physical disability
