John Snow, Inc. JSI is a leader in the field of international public health,
is currently recruiting for Data Clerks for the Regional Health Integration to
Enhance Services-North, Lango RHITES-N, Lango Project, funded by the USAID.
RHITES-N, Lango will improve the use of integrated health services in Northern
Uganda’s Lango region and strengthen the health system to sustain gains made
by earlier projects. RHITES-N, Lango will contribute to improving key
population-based national health indicators; build the capacity of the Ugandan
government to carry out a sustainable and locally-driven response to the HIV
epidemic, while also improving TB, malaria, nutrition, MNCH+A, and WASH
outcomes. JSI will work with Ugandan stakeholders to design and implement
health system strengthening strategies to scale up high- impact, evidence-
based interventions at the national, sub-regional, district, and community
levels. Interventions will include VMMG, virtual elimination of mother-to-
child transmission of HIV, antiretroviral therapy, and condom education and
distribution. JSI will focus where the greatest impact can be realized, with a
priority on hard-to-reach and high-HIV-prevalence locations. RHITES-N, Lango
is a five-year contract which Started in February 2018 and will end February
2023. The JSI team includes Amref Health Africa, Africa CUAMM, Another Option,
and Medical Concierge Group.
Job Summary The Enrolled Comprehensive Nurse will provide quality
nursing services to patients and participate in implementing public health
interventions in the community.
Key Duties and Responsibilities ⇒
⇗ Receiving, registering and preparing patients for diagnosis;
⇗ Providing quality nursing care and treatment to patients;
⇗ Observing and keeping proper records about the patients;
⇗ Participating in Doctors/Clinical Officers Ward rounds;
⇗ Participating in bedside nursing procedures as a member of the caring team;
⇗ Preparing patients for meals and participate in serving them;
⇗ Maintaining a clean and healthy environment for the patients;
⇗ Supervising and appraising Nursing Assistants and support staff;
⇗ Sensitizing patients and their attendants about basic health care
practices; and
⇗ Compiling and submitting daily nursing care service activity reports.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience ⇒
⇗ The ideal candidate must have Enrolled Nursing Certificate from a
recognized Institution.
⇗ Must be registered and licensed with the Nurses and Midwives Council.
⇗ MUST be a resident from any districts in Lango sub region.
⇗ Must have graduated within the previous 24 months. No candidates over 24
months’ post-graduation are eligible for the internship program.
⇗ Guidance and counselling;
⇗ Concern for quality and standards of nursing care;
⇗ Ethics and integrity; and
⇗ Time management
