Job Summary ⇒ The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for managing
Accounts Receivables, Receipting, and Inventory.
Key Duties and Responsibilities ⇒
Revenue/Debt Collections
⇗ Performs customer collections and receipting
⇗ Follows up on all the disconnected and closed customer accounts while
following the dunning process as stipulate in the company’s credit control
policy
⇗ Reconciles manual receipts to the system generated GP/Pastel/Prism ones
⇗ Follow up on All debtors and ensuring that payments are received on time
⇗ Reconciles Bounced Cheques and follows up on replacement
⇗ Updates customers’ accounts by applying receipts to the correct invoices
captured
⇗ Balances cash collected before handing it over for banking
⇗ Attends to all incoming calls/emails to accounts department regarding
client inquiries and updates on their account statements
Receiving and Issuing Inventory
⇗ Receives the goods delivered by the suppliers and performs a 3-way matching
of PO, Delivery note and Supplier Invoice
⇗ Receives requisitions from user departments and issues materials to the
correct cost centre to ensure accurate accountability
⇗ Captures batches in the inventory module and then passes on to the
accountant for posting
⇗ Keeps record of All the tools and their movements
Analysis, reconciliations, and reporting
⇗ Maintains optimal stock levels in accordance with agreed stock holding
policies and timeously communicates with various stakeholders
⇗ Analyses the aging stocks and communicates to Finance Manager about
obsolete stock
⇗ Facilitates monthly and ad-hoc stock taking exercises as required by
Financial Regulations
Maintains Historical Records, Security, and Cleanliness of the warehouse/
stores
⇗ Maintains good housekeeping of the stores to ensure they are clean, tidy
and free from hazards
⇗ Ensures that all store items are properly labeled and identified through a
stock code with a detailed bin card

Qualifications, Skills and Experience ⇒
The ideal candidate for the Liquid Telecom Accounting Assistant job must
possess the following
⇗ Degree- BCOM, BBA accounting Desirable
⇗ Diploma in Accounting or Equivalent Essential
⇗ CPA II Professional qualification will be an added advantage Desirable
⇗ One year of experience in a busy organization preferably in the
telecommunication industry Essential
⇗ 2 Years Extensive knowledge of Accounts Receivables, receipting and
accounting packages Essential
⇗ Proficient in using computer software e.g. Excel and accounting
application systems
⇗ Knowledge of Billing, ERP and accounting applications
⇗ Knowledge of pastel accounting system is an added advantage
⇗ Very strong Communication Skills and the ability to express concepts
effectively, both verbally and in writing
⇗ Highly self-motivated
⇗ Keen attention to detail
⇗ Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure
environment
⇗ Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
⇗ Possess strong interpersonal skills
⇗ Ability to work independently
