JOWA Health is a mobile laboratory company presently operating in Kampala and
its surrounding areas. We provide home-based lab testing services in a range
of areas including COVID-19 Sample picking, Stat Draws, Critical Timed
Sensitive Draws, Cancer Screening, Cholesterol Testing, Medication Level
Testing, Thyroid Testing, Routine Draws, Timed Antibiotic Testing, Glucose
Level Testing, Specimen Pick-up and delivery and more! Such a company comes in
handy at a time as this when time is of the essence and social distancing,
urban riots, traffic congestion and other inconvenience make life in the urban
areas less enjoyable.
Job Summary ⇒ We are scaling up our operations to cater for the increasing
demand for mobile health services in Uganda and would like to recruit a
competent and experienced accountant/ cashier to handle our finances.
Key Duties and Responsibilities ⇒
⇗ Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing
accounting data; preparing reports.
⇗ Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
⇗ Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing
balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and other reports.
⇗ Maintains accounting standards at JOWA Health by preparing and recommending
policies and procedures.
⇗ Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account
information.
⇗ Ensures that financial information is safe by completing database backups.
⇗ Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
⇗ Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
⇗ Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting
accounting policy and regulations.
⇗ Complies with the local financial legal requirements of Uganda by studying
existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and
advising management on needed actions.
⇗ Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial
information confidential.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience ⇒
⇗ The ideal candidate must hold a diploma in accounting, finance or a related
field
⇗ CPA would be an added advantage it is not required
⇗ One year of experience in accounting/finance in a company/ NGO setting
⇗ Experience with financial reporting requirements
⇗ Ability to work with modern accounting software QuickBooks, Excel, etc.
is a plus
⇗ MUST be good with MS Word
⇗ Accounting
