Job Summary ⇒ Under the guidance of the Finance Manager, the Senior
Accountant- Grants contributes to the effective management of LWF Accounting
standards and is responsible for overseeing the Project portfolio of LWF
Uganda while working closely Program/Grant Managers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities ⇒
⇗ Participate in budget development during proposal writing, is responsible
for Budget consolidation for all proposals developed and shares for review by
Finance manager.
⇗ Participate in budget revision/modification for grants and prepares final
draft for review by Finance Manager
⇗ For all new grants, study grant guidelines and take lead to orient other
finance and project staff donor rules and regular at the start of the project.
⇗ Prepare Donor Financial Reports as required by Grant Agreements and ensure
to have reports submitted to donor in timely manner.
⇗ On monthly basis, prepare Project Performance reports for Grant Managers
and Project managers.
⇗ Perform Project monitoring and controlling activities on all running
projects and Finance manager on any issues that may require attention.
⇗ Lead and manage Grant Specific Audits as per the grant agreement.
⇗ Responsible for custody of Grant agreements, Financial reports, Project
audit reports and Finance expense support documentation.
⇗ Responsible for tracking donor installments and preparation of funds
request for all projects when due.
⇗ Responsible project closure in financial system.
⇗ Undertakes any other related duties as may reasonably be assigned the
Finance Manager.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience ⇒
⇗ The applicant must hold a University Degree in Commerce, Business
Administration, or other relevant field of study;
⇗ A member of the Institute of the Public Accountants of Uganda Preferable at
Level II with sound knowledge of Financial Management is an added advantage;
⇗ At least five years of professional experience in grants management
preferably on large donor funded programmes
⇗ Experience in the use of Accounting Package Preferably SAGE 300 ERP
⇗ Good oral and written communication in English and an ability to write
synthetic, concise and clear reports;
⇗ Strong analytical and conceptual skills and an ability to gather
information from different sometimes conflicting sources, and synthesize it
to arrive at an accurate picture of the situation;
⇗ An independent frame of mind and the ability to work with minimal
supervision;
⇗ Highest degree of integrity and accountability
⇗ Information Technology MS Office, Internet and outlook;
⇗ Ability to work under minimum supervision;
⇗ Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines;
⇗ Flexibility towards work and dependable;
⇗ Result oriented and personal integrity;
⇗ Ability to inspire and build capacity of other finance staff;
⇗ Good team player with good communication skills;
