About Program
PATH is launching a new three-year initiative in Uganda to coordinate and
monitor scale-up of contraceptive self-injection in alignment with the
country’s national plan, which aims to complete scale-up of SI across all
sectors by end of December 2021\. PATH will work with the Ministry of Health
MOH and partners on finalizing the necessary tools and approaches, based on
learnings from the significant body of Uganda self-injection evidence, for
scaling the practice through existing in-country partner networks USAID
bilateral, DFID global awards, and bilateral, UNFPA and to monitor
implementation and uptake.

Job Summary PATH is recruiting a Project Coordinator to manage
implementation of the Uganda scale-up project work plan, as well as to manage
and track regional technical assistance delivered to Anglophone countries in
the Africa and Asia regions who are working to scale up self-injection. The
project coordinator will support the Uganda and global teams to ensure work
plan activities are executed on time and aligned with budget, applying project
management tools and techniques. The coordinator will report to the Access
Collaborative Regional Technical Advisor based in Kampala.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Work with Regional Technical Advisor and US-based Program Officer to
support program strategy and manage Regional SI TA work plan, milestones, and
deliverables; facilitate monthly work plan updates Maintain TA tracker for
Anglophone countries; ensure that requests are documented and followed up
Manage communications across global team to streamline inputs into TA
requests for the Anglophone region; act as first point of contact on team to
draft a response and coordinate inputs
Oversee continuous improvement and adaptation of regional TA model
including through facilitating quarterly reviews of progress
Responsible for including Anglophone regional TA activities in routine
reporting mechanisms e.g., annual report, monthly Ops Group meetings,
quarterly donor group meetings
Work with the Uganda Project Director and project team to support program
strategy and manage Uganda work plan, milestones, and deliverables; facilitate
monthly work plan updates and flag potential linkages with global AC work plan
activities.
Monitor high-level implementation of the Uganda SI scale-up plan across
Implementing partners and track progress through the scale up tracker, toward
key milestones set forth by the DMPA-SC task force
Track and ensure evidence-based, efficient team responses to technical
assistance and support requests from the Ministry of Health, District Health
Teams, and partners on family planning, and specifically DMPA-SC self-
injection
Manage tasks related to tracking deliverables, coordinating efforts, and
identifying and communicating risks internally and externally.
Help to develop and maintain high-performing teams. Includes assisting with
or leading team meetings, ensuring focused agendas and clear outcomes are
captured succinctly e.g., weekly global team calls, monthly donor calls,
partner, or district meetings.
Work closely with functional resource managers to ensure appropriate
allocation of resources to the project.
Coordinating and contributing to the development of donor reports,
including developing slides and other outputs for regular donor engagements,
annual reporting, and in response to donor requests.
As assigned, coordinating, and contributing to the development of new grant
proposals, or the revision of existing proposals.
Contribute to improvement of project and portfolio management systems.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The applicant must hold a Master’s Degree in Public Health, demography or
equivalent in relevant discipline.
Training in Business administration is an added advantage
At least four years of experience and demonstrated skills in project
management and team management.
Minimum of three years of experience working in international development,
preferably in the health or family planning field in multiple countries across
east, west and/or central Africa; or documented equivalent experience in
related field.
Knowledge of project management, project reporting and risk management
tools. Certification in project management preferred.
Previous experience working in cross-functional teams or a matrixed
organizational structure.
Strong communication skills, capacity to understand situations and project
scenario and translate effectively into communication collaterals for
stakeholders and partners.
Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively independently
and in a team.
Excellent command over spoken and written English
Advanced computer skills, including MS Office skills Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint and specific project management applications e.g., MS Project,
Asana, and SharePoint.
Well-organized and attention to details with good follow-through skills.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Must have legal authorization to work in Uganda.
