About US
Imagine Her is a non-profit working to accessibly provide young vulnerable women and youth with a robust innovation skillset and essential resources to create sustainable social ventures and social impact in Uganda. We do this by providing tools and collaborating with communities as key advocates to prepare pathways for their socio-economic independence.
 
As part of our work, we are implementing a Project dubbed Hello World which we seek to fill some vacant positions. Project Hello World provides educational resources and Internet connectivity to isolated and vulnerable communities. We do this by building solar-powered, outdoor Internet kiosks— so that underprivileged children and adults can educate themselves, communicate with others, and have a voice in the global community. We do this by mobilizing communities to build Hello Hubs, solar-powered outdoor Internet kiosks, and state-of-the-art technology including high-quality solar panels, satellite connectivity, rugged, waterproof touch-screen screens, camera, and audio equipment. Hello Hubs are designed to withstand extreme outdoor weather and are energy-autonomous, which means that they can bring connectivity and education to even the most isolated communities.
 
Job Summary  The Operations Associate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of all activities associated with preparing, building, managing, and maintaining Hello Hubs under the Project Hello World in Uganda. This includes; management and oversight of the community support officer, logistical planning, and community engagement. The Operations Associate will work closely with the Team Leader to systematically implement annual and quarterly targets in Uganda. The Operations Associate will take a lead role in the execution of the following responsibilities.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities 
Planning, preparing, management of Hub builds
Management and direct oversight of all Community Support Officers in the respective Hub communities
Act as a liaison between the project and the respective Hub communities.
Coordinate with the engineering team for timely app set up, deployment, and hub maintenance
Overseeing and managing the Hub Heroes manager
Coordinate and plan for future Hub builds.
 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in the following fields; Social Work & Social Administration, Social Sciences, Social Work & Community Development Required
Prior knowledge and skills managing a team
Minimum of two years experience in program design and management including proven experience of managing large programs relating to Edu-tech Required
Leadership experience in the social and community sector Preferred
Superior oral and written communication skills in English Required
Computer fluency and understanding of Google-suite Required
Fast learner and can work on schedule
Certificate of good conduct Required.
