Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation -Uganda Baylor-Uganda is an indigenous not-for-profit child health and development organisation affiliated to the Baylor College of Medicine International Paediatric AIDS Initiative BIPAI, a Network of paediatric HIV/AIDS care and treatment Children’s Clinical Centres of Excellence and international program offices in 11 countries across Africa and Eastern Europe.
 
Job Summary  The Project Manager will manage the implementation of global health security project activities including providing technical support for Global Health Security Agenda related activities, work plan and budget management, monitoring project implementation, strategic planning for GHSA, resource mobilization and leadership/supervision of staff.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities 
Participate in project work planning, budgeting, implementation, and performance management
Support the Project Director to monitor implementation of systems/policies/SOPs to ensure project compliance with Baylor-Uganda and donor regulations.
Manage a diverse team of project staff.
Provide technical assistance and support to national and sub-national teams
Support the Project Director to develop and maintain strategic partnerships and networks between Baylor Uganda with ‘relevant development partners and implementing partners to enhance growth and sustainability of Global Health Security Agenda.
Participate in resource mobilization activities including grant writing.
Develop and lead implementation of innovative approaches to implementing Global Health Security Agenda activities
Support the Ministry of Health in implementation of the national action plan for health security and implementation of the IHR Monitoring and Evaluation Framework
Coordinate project report writing and ensure timely submission
Coordinate knowledge management of the project, including documentation and dissemination of best practices.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The applicant must hold a Master’s Degree in a health-related field. Post graduate or master in project management or advanced Field Epidemiology training is an added advantage.
At least seven 7 years working experience, with four 4 years program of experience at senior or managerial level in a reputable organization.
Good knowledge of project planning and management principles, and donor guidelines
