Job Summary ⇒ Street Child Uganda is looking for a Finance Officer to
support across all Street Child financials. You will be responsible for
compiling, analyzing and processing all financial transactions, and providing
vital support to our core finance team. We are looking for an individual with
good book-keeping knowledge, a strong attention to detail and experience
working in a similar role. Street Child is a growing organization and this
junior role will provide an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to
gain experience within a fast moving international development charity.
Key Duties and Responsibilities ⇒
Finance 60%
⇗ Ensures all documents are complete, with the appropriate supporting
documents, reviewed and approved before processing for payment.
⇗ Ensures that all payments are made on time and hard copies filled
appropriately
⇗ Ensure all vouchers are printed, Stamped paid and filled daily
⇗ Post all financial transactions into the Street Child software Accounting
System daily.
⇗ Produces monthly bank reconciliation statements and consolidate these in
hard copy for review by the Finance Manager.
⇗ Reconcile beyonic mobile money account
⇗ Accounts for all petty cash expenditures.
⇗ Ensure all financial documents are accurately supported.
⇗ Receive all accountabilities from Partners and pass the relevant entries
⇗ Support the Finance mangers with Partner reviews
⇗ Support with Annual Audit preparation
⇗ Support specific periodic Programme Audits
⇗ Act as a bank agent
⇗ Provide technical support to non -finance staff on financial policies
⇗ Reconcile all advances and generate periodic reports
Administration 40%
⇗ Directly supervise the work of the security guards, the cleaners and
drivers
⇗ Responsible for managing the work environment and ensure staff are
comfortable
⇗ Regularly update the asset register
⇗ File monthly Statutory returns
⇗ Review Vendor claims to ensure compliance with procurement procedures
⇗ Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications, Skills and Experience ⇒
⇗ The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Business
Administration Accounting and other related fields
⇗ Level 3 of ACCA/CPA
⇗ At least four years’ experience in Auditing/Accounting in an NGO sector.
⇗ Practical Knowledge of donor accounting procedures
⇗ Extensive knowledge in QuickBooks
⇗ Excellent computer skills.
⇗ Knowledge in Uganda tax laws
⇗ High level of integrity
⇗ Analytical skills
