Job Summary ⇒ The Ambulance Driver will be responsible for the safe
transportation of authorized goods and passengers. Supports nurses in
performing ambulance services. Ensuring its technical and safety conditions
and respecting the country's traffic rules
Key Duties and Responsibilities ⇒
⇗ In emergency cases, support the nurse in administering first aid and additional interventions that support patient health
⇗ Transport the vehicle to appointed vendor facilities for approved maintenance and repairs to be completed e.g. oil-change, washing bay, etc.
⇗ Ensure the vehicle always has sufficient fuel
⇗ Ensure correct loading and unloading of the vehicle, verify the status of delivered goods against required documents, submit documents to the receiver of goods and return completed documents to the Operations department
⇗ Keep vehicle clean and free of debris
⇗ In case of accidents and emergencies, follow MTI medical emergency procedures and evacuate passengers according to policy; complete written accident report
⇗ Participate in safety and defensive driving trainings
⇗ The ideal candidate must hold an 'A' Level Certificate of Education is required
⇗ Possession of a valid Uganda driving permit class CM & DL is required
⇗ Certification in First Aid and CPR is required
⇗ At least three years of heavy vehicle driving in Uganda is required
⇗ Experience driving an ambulance and working with an international NGO is an added advantage
⇗ Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics and maintenance; First Aid and CPR
⇗ Skilled in administering First Aid and CPR
⇗ Ability to remain calm in stressful situations to prioritize patient care
⇗ Ability to keep detailed records and write reports
⇗ Ability to support MTI Calling and adhere to the MTI Code of Conduct
